10 Hour The Art of Assisting Immersion

14th & 21st March 2026

 Develop your observation skills, learn and practice effective hands-on assists that both address common misalignments and encourage inner guidance in a variety of poses and build confidence in the practice of giving and receiving as you learn to better help your students find joy and ease in their practice.

Workshop Schedule 

This intensive training takes place over two Saturdays in March 2026: 

  • Saturday, March 14, 2026 | 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Saturday, March 21, 2026 | 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM 

What you will learn…

  • The foundations of assisting and the benefits of hands-on assists

  • Different types of assisting techniques

  • How to refine your use of touch

  • Basic anatomy and alignment of various yoga postures

  • Tools to assist the breath and energetics in a posture

  • The role of props as tools in assisting

  • How to be an assistant for a yoga class

  • Boundaries and ethics relating to assists and how to read a room

  • Lots of opportunity to practice assists in many different poses including but not limited to foundational standing poses, sun salutations, seated poses, inversions and partner variations

Practical Application

This workshop features extensive hands-on practice across a diverse range of postures:

  • Foundational Poses: Mountain pose, Warriors, and Downward Dog.

  • Flow & Vinyasa: Assisting through Sun Salutations and transitions.

  • Seated & Inversions: Deepening forward folds and supporting students safely in inversions like handstands.

  • Partner Variations: Exploring collaborative assists to build community and trust.
